Wyeth Walks

A Gayer Scarf – Wyeth Walk #175

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry’s cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I’ll put a trinket on.

-Emily Dickinson

Sat on the trail this morning listening to a flock of birds fly over and land in the treetops above me. The water drops and acorns they shook from ahigh rained around me. A chill in the air and this newly turned leaf singing of the changing tide of seasons.

(We learned just recently that NC Wyeth highly admired the work of Emily Dickinson)
