Wyeth Walks

Braids – Wyeth Walk #44

Andrew Wyeth’s Braids, a Helga tempera “headshot” with extraordinary detail of her hair in braids and of the texture of her sweater, is one of my favorites. These vines today, with the “sweater” texture behind them, reminded me of this painting. I cut off the image of the vine the way Wyeth literally cut off the bottom part of his painting containing the tips of Helga’s braids (I can’t remember off the top of my head why he did this, just that he did!).

Was chillier today than past few days, but still sunny and wonderful to be outside. Spent most of the morning shoveling dirt in my back yard and then grabbed this quick walk, so nice to enjoy the fresh air!
