Clarity – Wyeth Walk #162
Andrew Wyeth: “There’s a quote from Hamlet that is my guide… He tells the players not to exaggerate but to hold a mirror up to nature. Don’t overdo it, don’t underdo it. Do it just on the line.”
No filter or color processing on this photo, this is exactly how my phone snapped the pic. Holding a mirror up to nature, if you will. And, this picture I was gifted with is certainly a good reminder to me to be in “receive mode”, after the high processing of yesterday’s photo of my hair in the grass that didn’t work out as well.
The word clarity came from my yoga teacher this morning, she suggested that “clarity” might be something we carry through the day from our practice. Was still pushing through down moods and that was the word I held on to as the one thing I could hold on to and aspire to for the day. When this picture came, it made the entire day make sense.
I took my son on my hike today, was great to see the trail through his eyes again. I was also particularly struck today by passing the sites of many of my older photographs- seeing the exact same spots in different lights made the subject matters look so completely different. A real treat to experience the same trail over and over again.
