Moonlight – Wyeth Walk #144

The nighttime light of the moon has been lovely these past few days since the full moon on Friday. NC Wyeth used to walk the 12 miles from Wilmington DE to Chadd Ford PA without a second thought – this week’s moonlight reminded me of the letter (1920ish?) in which he wrote about going to dinner and a movie in Wilmington and then walked back to Chadds Ford in a circuitous manner, making the trip 15 miles and arriving home at 1:30 in the morning. I’m assuming there must have been lovely moonlight to make this possible! And, I’d love to know the path he took, would be fun to see some of that landscape today, although it’s all private property at this point, it’s very lovely countryside, I love to drive back in there.
