Sesquicentennial – Wyeth Walk #150

On the occasion of my 150th “Wyeth Walk”, I opened the Letters of NC Wyeth to begin reading where I had left off, and lo and behold was presented (gifted) with NC’s description of the reenactment of the Battle of the Brandywine in honor of the 150th anniversary of the battle. 50,000 (wowzas!) people came to watch the reenactment in Chadds Ford in 1927. Apparently the weather was glorious and NC in typical fashion left no descriptive phrases unturned in his letter writing about the day. The spectacle apparently made quite an impression on a 10 year old Andrew Wyeth, who went home and began drawing all kinds of soldier accoutrements.

New trail today with a new creek. It was lovely. I found myself climbing out on the mossy tree trunk fallen over the creek to get this picture… Literally going out on a limb!!
