Wyeth Walks

The Passage of Time – Wyeth Walk #84

it’s been two weeks since I visited my little creek on a Wyeth Walk.  Today, the vegetation was so tall on my path I couldn’t make my way in.  I was a bit saddened by this… my husband had joked in the winter time that we would need to be buying me a machete for this project, but I guess I hadn’t expected to need it so soon, and after only a two week absence.  I’ve been thinking about the passage of time for some music I’m creating- thinking about Betsy Wyeth saying Andrew could always sense all the generations and objects that had been in one place.  I’ve had some new piano music flowing this week meditating on that theme- imagining myself inhabiting multiple worlds in one place.  This new blocked path seemed fitting to that theme somehow.  I made my way to another branch of the creek and walked out on a fallen tree spotted in the sunlight and dancing shadows of leaves.  Turned around and saw this shifting pattern on a living tree.  I suppose our lives are all just shifting patterns…
